Upazila-Level Coordination Meeting Held to Prevent Violence Against Women

An upazila-level coordination meeting on the prevention of violence against women was held on Saturday, 26 September, at 10:00 AM at the Mangrove Conference Hall, organized by ARA with the cooperation of Manusher Jonno Foundation and Christian Aid.

The Chief Guest of the meeting was Mr. Mukit Hasan Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police, Satkhira. The Special Guests included Md. Jaharul Islam, District Information Officer; Md. Ziaur Rahman, Social Development Officer, Satkhira Municipality; Tasrina Khatun, representative of the Department of Women Affairs; Md. Mominul Islam, Head Teacher of Palashpol Adarsha Secondary School; Farida Akter Beauty, President of the Satkhira Municipality Women Protection Committee; and Advocate Selina Akter, Legal Aid Secretary of the Municipal Committee.

Speeches were also delivered by Mosammat Fatema Khatun, representative of the Women Protection Committee of Ward No. 6; Raihatul Jannat, General Secretary of the Satkhira Municipality Women Protection Committee; and Mariyam Sultana, member of the Women Protection Committee of Ward No. 6 (Kashiar area).

The presentation of the upazila-level coordination meeting was delivered by Sardar Asibur Rahman, Project Coordinator of the RENEW Project.
